Original Release Date: June 24, 2014. Label: Lanark Records. Total Length: 29:30. 'I'm Coming Home' includes 12 newly recorded tracks by this rock legend. The album reunites Robert Gordon with longtime band member Rob Stoner (bass & Bob Dylan musical director). Guitarist Marshall Crenshaw co-wrote the second track, 'Walk Hard', and appears on the album. Rockats founding member Dibbs Preston contributed two new original tracks ('Low Down Weekend' & 'Quit This Big Old Town') and lends his guitar expertise. Former Hooters founding member David Uosikkinen joins the recording as Gordon's drummer. This is Gordon's first new album since the mid 2000's.
Robert Gordon is musically stuck in the 1950s and we’re all better off for it. Fusing his rugged punk roots (he was in Tuff Darts in the ’70s), with the gritty rockabilly and honky tonk that brings to mind legends like Cash, Williams and Setzer, Gordon’s 11th album reworks some classics as well as laying down 3 originals of his own brand of timeless rock’n’roll. Help from luminaries Marshall Crenshaw and David Uosikkinen (Hooters) come to the aid of Gordon’s baritone vocals, though ultimately these tunes were all fleshed out under Gordon’s neo-rockabilly approach.
