Ska Sound System

Born out of a shared love of ska & punk, and a post-pandemic need to let loose, and skank it up, a group of musicians and friends in Montreal put together a project called Ska Sound System to go wild, have fun and make people dance and sing. Featuring members of Montreal bands such Grimskunk, Colectivo, Francbâtards, The Van Hornies to name but a few, the group has no pretension other than to spread good party vibes through a diverse array of old school and modern ska & punk through the music, and inspired by, bands like Sublime, the Specials, Operation Ivy, Rancid, Toots & the Maytals, Madness, etc… Their shows consist of their take on classic ska and punk tunes from the 60s through 90s, a blend of lyrically charged originals with a fiery horn section and a few GrimSkunk classics are added to boot. A good time awaits all that attend their shows.
