Release Date: 27.08.2020. Label: Contra Records. Total Length: 42:07. OLDFASHIONED IDEAS is like a crossing between the Swedish bands GATANS LAG and KÖRSBÄRSFETTERA. Simply good street punk in Swedish. And this is actually their first album with lyrics in Swedish. On their 5 previous albums they sang in English. Their songs are melody-driven, but at the same time angry, and with a harsh voice. There's also female backup vocals, as well as trumpet and saxophone. The band formed in 2009, and their first album, "We're In This Shit Together", was released in 2010. Well, this is absolutely worth checking out if you like true punk.

Surprise? An OLDFASHIONED IDEAS album in their native language? Not really, as this was planned since ages and as a fan of scandinavian Punk and Oi! you will know that things can't really go wrong: GATANS LAG and similar bands do it brilliant since their beginning, and now the Malmö boys did a great job on "Skalen In I Väggen". The raspy voice of singer Per powers tons of energy and aggression into the songs, but when the saxophone and (partly female) gang vocals come in the songs unfold their own magic. The band surely has made an big improvement in songwriting during the last years and "Skalen In I Väggen" is an album which never gets boring.

"This was originally intended to be released as a double CD in the beginning of this year, to collect all the non-album tracks from our first ten years. But because of how this year turned out and also due to the fact that not a lot of people actually buys CD:s anymore, we decided to put it on Spotify rather than to scrap it entirely. (And before you ask about vinyl, a triple-LP was never really considered. Would have been kinda cool though, going full Sandinista ��). This collection contains 37 tracks from EP:s, tracks from compilations, previously unreleased tracks and cover songs."
