Vinnegar doesn’t escape his moniker of “jazz’s greatest walker” here, in fact, his steady hand help lead a group of relative unknowns in some sublime jazz tunes. “Glass of Water” isn’t quite as funky as “The Kid” on the PBR label, but a certain feel carries over, as well as styles and players. Dwight Dickerson contributes a solid effort, with his electric piano in the forefront, and tracks with titles like “Damn! Somebody stole my Pants” imply a welcome light-hearted touch. A highly enjoyable album from a classic jazz player.
